Donald Trump, Hitler, politics, Upton Sinclair
Hello fellow zobopians! I had something on my mind this month. Can you guess what it is? Yep, it’s Donald Trump! Having a potential female President doesn’t scare me as much as having a President Trump in the White House.
The author Upton Sinclair once wrote in a story, (see picture below), titled “Root of All Evil” :
“A world conqueror had appeared in modern times. Alexander [the great], [Julius] Caesar, Attila [the Hun], Genghis Khan, Napoleon -… when nine men out of ten would have said it was impossible.”
[Was Sinclair predicting the rise of Donald Trump?]
“A world conqueror has to be a man of few ideas, … a peculiar combination of exactly the right qualities, both good and bad – iron determination, irresistable energy, and no scruples of any sort, (…) He has to understand the minds of other men, both foes and friends, and what greeds, fears, hates, jealousies will move them to action. He must understand the mass minds, the ideals or delusions which sway it; (…) He must believe in nothing but his own destiny, the glorified image of himself…”
Doesn’t it seem like Upton Sinclair was describing today’s Donald Trump? Actually this story was originally written in 1942 about Adolf Hitler. If America doesn’t root out evil, the future will moan and curse us for not acting!

Abraham Lincoln, fundamentalism, politics, religion, society, women
Hello zobopians! I’m all for freedom of politics and all but sometimes you have to “kick out the JAMS!”
In today’s rant I’m going to warn the world of fundamentalism. Political and religious. The G.O.P. (Grand Old Party) of today is not legitimate. The Republican party today belongs to the theocrats and the phony sanctimonious shameless power-seekers. Fear and bigotry are their watch words. You’ll hear a Republican claim that they are the party of Abraham Lincoln. Lie! The Republican party no longer adheres to its abolitionist founding, which was the pursuit of freedom for all its citizens. The G.O.P. has become a fundamentalist political party that pursues the restriction of freedom for certain members of our society like women and people of color, as well as the L.G.B.T. community.
I guess this is what happens when the next generation doesn’t pick up where the last generation leaves off. The next generation, in this case Baby Boomers, hijack a political party and go off in a fundamentalist direction. The previous generation of Republicans actually were for more equality for women but now they’ve been waging war against women since the 1970’s. That sounds like a 5th column of women and minority haters. Fundamentalism in any religion will set society back who knows how far.
Until neXt time…

Black History, economics, history, John Williams, politics
Hello fellow zobopians! So, what histories do you read? History or His, Story? Are Black citizens ever going to be a part of history or anybody’s story? We’re aware that the victors write the history. Unfortunately it’s not accurate. You know, “just the facts.” The losers or former slaves don’t get to write history. It’s no wonder people can feel like they’re left out, #BlackLivesMatter.

“…What histories do you read, Gus? Tell me about the history of the American armed forces, and I can show you how important Negroes were to those forces; tell me about the history of American economics and I can show you where Negroes made up the bulk of those economies by being poor or left out of them altogether; tell me about the history of religion of America, and I can show you where, as long as there have been Negroes in this hemisphere, religion has been an absolute lie; tell me about the history of American politics, and I can show you where American politics would be vastly different today if Negroes had had a real voice in them…” –Chapter 24 from the book ‘The Man Who Cried I Am’ by John A. Williams (1967)

*Note: We don’t use the term Negro anymore, it’s an old term from an old time. Until neXt time…

Ferguson, Frantz Fanon, police, politics, racism
Hello fellow zobopians! To the point…
How many Ferguson, Missouri police officers are Black? Don’t the Ferguson citizens want to become police officers? That’s one way to end racist police terror.
How many members of the Ferguson, Missouri town/city council are Black? Don’t registered voters of Ferguson want to go into politics?
Will there ever be a Black person as mayor of Ferguson? I’m not playing the Race Card; just saying. Citizens will have to overcome their inertia and self-defeat to change the future. If things don’t change soon, Ferguson will continue to be pacified by a predominate White Citizens Council.
This is what one gets when you read Frantz Fanons‘ ‘Wretched of the Earth’ book. Until neXt time…

Chicago, politics, Rahm Emanuel, tax
Hello fellow zobopians! Time for a citizens political rant. I’m on a roll with rants this month, aren’t I? (That might be bad English.) Anyway…
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel gets to spend $55 million in property taxes for a swanky new Marriott hotel in the South Loop. Meanwhile…Chicago citizens might have to pay higher property taxes to finance pension funds for public employees. What the hell am I missing? Chicago citizens are getting fleeced and ripped-off when it comes to any kind of taxes! Taxes and higher fees and we have nothing to show for it! Except potholes and falling bridge overpasses.
And on top of all that, Illinois companies get tax breaks and public subsidies. No jobs or business expansion to show for it. NOTHING. TO. SHOW. FOR! What a SHAM!
