BlackLivesMatter, police, race, society, video
Hello fellow zobopians. [No exclamation point.] I’m nowadays under the impression that the Un-United States of America are becoming a modern day killing fields. Black people are getting shot and killed on any given day. Police unions and lawyers are making it illegal to video record police doing their job we, taxpayers, are paying for.
Video recordings don’t seem to be a deterrent! Police and “stand your ground” freaks can kill with impunity! The whole world is watching? What difference does it make? Who watches the watchers? Apparently we can’t!

Well hello fellow zobopians! Yep, I’m still blogging! It’s still 2016 in the 21st century and I’m still waiting for my 2001 space odyssey. We’re 15 years overdue for it! Oh well, on to pressing matters on Earth.
Black lives haven’t mattered since…the mid-1990’s. I blame the Zero-Tolerance policies of those 1990’s. Instead of sending Black students to the principal’s office, and calling the parent(s), they’re sent to the police station. Instead of suspending Black students, with a crap-load of homework to be completed upon returning, they’re expelled from the school never to return. [Good luck you charter schools.]
Yeah…I don’t think Black Lives Matter. In this world Freedom without Security is useless. You can say #BlackLivesMatter all you want. We will always be looking over our shoulders for the rest of our lives.
Black lives, obviously, don’t matter when lives are being lost everyday. When someone gets killed by police who intentionally sought to deprive someone of their constitutional rights — you can’t get justice! When someone gets killed by police due to incompetence, bad training or mistakes — you can’t get justice!
You can’t win for losing your lives!
P.S. : In 1857, Chief Justice Roger Taney declared that, black men “had no rights which the white man was bound to respect.” Like I said above, Freedom without Security is useless.
Until neXt time…

bigotry, BlackTwitter, civil rights, human-rights, violence
Hello fellow zobopians! The whole world’s watching! But who’s watching the watchers? What difference does it make? It’s all being captured on video! Killers are being caught on video. People getting killed are captured on video. The revolution WILL NOT be televised! It will get recorded and be available for downloading to be watched over and over again at your convenience.
But…here’s the thing…
When a Black person gets shot and/or killed by police, does anyone see it? Never mind having “the talk” with your son or daughter when coming in contact with the police. What Black Americans need to talk about is, do you have a dashboard camera or your own personal body camera ready? That’s the talk we need to be having.
The importance of recording the police is deadly serious. (After all, they’re recording us citizens.) There are three deadly grounds for Black people when we come into contact with police:
-Order Of Survivability-
- You can get shot and/or killed in the street or in the vehicle. [Eric garner – killed on sidewalk; Alton Sterling – shot in the street; Philando Castile – shot in car.]
- You can get shot and/or killed in the police vehicle; ( if you survive the first deadly ground scene.) [Freddie Gray – killed in police van during “rough ride”.]
- You can die in the jail house or jail-holding cell; ( that is if you survive the first & second deadly grounds.) [Sandra Bland – suspiciously died while in waiting in jail.]
Gone are the days of the 1960’s slogan, “the whole world’s watching”. The police of the 21st century need to be kept under watch. The only way we’re going to do that is to keep recording them. If the police are going to keep “shooting to kill” us, then we need to keep “shooting to record” them just so we can have proof and evidence of what happened. We can’t always rely on the police to provide evidence when they cover-up or delay proof or disable their tax-payer paid recording equipment.
KEEP RECORDING! Freedom without security is useless!
Until neXt time…

Hello fellow zobopians! Happy New Year if I didn’t say that last time. Wow…2015 was the year of Police Brutality. I wonder what 2016 will bring America. Police brutality seems to be the bane of America’s existence. Bayard Rustin, a citizen of the Civil Rights movement, once wrote about police brutality back in the 1960’s [Los Angeles Watts area]:
“Police brutality must be stopped! We must everywhere be part of the cry for civilian review boards, not in the naive belief that they are a panacea but in the conviction that police conduct is not the exclusive responsibility of commissions and politicians. Police must be answerable to the citizenry they presumably protect, and if they have been educated to any other concept of their role, now is the time to reeducate them.” Mr. Rustin wrote this back before I was born!
Mr Rustin also wrote:
“We must create a situation in which backlashers are politically neutralized by having to pay too high a price for the exercise of racist impulses.”
History truly has a way of repeating itself.
Until neXt time…

Ferguson, Frantz Fanon, police, politics, racism
Hello fellow zobopians! To the point…
How many Ferguson, Missouri police officers are Black? Don’t the Ferguson citizens want to become police officers? That’s one way to end racist police terror.
How many members of the Ferguson, Missouri town/city council are Black? Don’t registered voters of Ferguson want to go into politics?
Will there ever be a Black person as mayor of Ferguson? I’m not playing the Race Card; just saying. Citizens will have to overcome their inertia and self-defeat to change the future. If things don’t change soon, Ferguson will continue to be pacified by a predominate White Citizens Council.
This is what one gets when you read Frantz Fanons‘ ‘Wretched of the Earth’ book. Until neXt time…

Ferguson, LIFE, magazine, Missouri, Newark, riot
Hello zobopians! History always seem to have a way of repeating itself. In 1967 Newark a young kid, Joe Bass Jr., was gunned down in the streets during the riots there. Fast forward to 2014 Ferguson, Missouri and another young kid gets gunned down in the street. No less by cops in both situations! We never seem to learn from our own or anyone’s mistakes. We citizens of Black America keep crossing the same rivers of blood. Our own blood no less.
Here are two pictures from LIFE magazine, 1967, to ponder the ‘deja vu’ of our existence in America.

Stand Your Ground? On Deadly Ground!
Didn’t Stand-A-Chance! Who’s suppose to stand down?
Nothing but questions and concerns.
If you’re a Black male, your life life chances are on shaky ground. You are NOT allowed to “stand your ground”.
How did the right-wing American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) start a movement to get American states to enact laws, like Stand Your Ground, which tolerates lethal force? Even against unarmed citizens.
George Zimmerman took advantage of the Stand Your Ground law so he could use it as a pretext for lethal force. I’m sure he won’t be the last. Zimmerman was told to stand down by a 911 operator and he refused! And yet he got away with killing an unarmed Florida teenager [Trayvon Martin].
A “Neighborhood Watch” flunky like Zimmerman is supposed to alert police and let them handle the situation. Laws like Stand Your Ground basically give people a license shoot first and plead self-defense later. On CBS‘s “Face the Nation” House Speaker John Boehner said, “We should not be judged by how many new laws we create”, “We ought to be judged on how many laws we repeal.” Well people, I say Stand Your Ground should be repealed FIRST!
We cannot allow the A.L.E.C. and other right-wing flukes to use language to be twisted and confused so laws can come into existence just for the sake of lethal force or self-defense. Stand Your Ground is a law that begs for someone to be killed.
I’m running out of things to say about this. I hope this post is somewhat complete. But it won’t be the last word on Stand Your Ground.
